Sometimes, especially when a girl is dealing with a lot of stress or anxiety or uncertainty in her life, only two things "do the trick"- retail therapy or salon pampering!  haha.  As a lot of you know, my hubby is in a fight for his life dealing with cancer, and I spend a LOT of time in my kitchen on my days' off (I work part-time) making huge salads, washing vegetables, cutting up vegetables (we eat mostly raw) and especially scrubbing and juicing carrots.  I know that I am doing the right thing taking care of him... but you still start to feel a bit like a domestic slave when you spend so much time in your kitchen taking care of someone!!

So, there was only one thing to do.  I knew I needed to do something for ME.  Something that would make me feel pretty and would be relaxing and pampering.  Since I have been spending so much time with my hands in water, my nails were a MESS.  The beautiful manicure that my friend treated me to in Baltimore didn't last long (I am SO hard on my hands!), and since I work in the public, my hands are always in view.  Now I feel much more polished....

...because  I treated myself with gel nails.  A bit of a "splurge"... I guess... but just a little way of "rewarding" myself.

What do you think??

Well, Monday is what I refer to as my "Kick Butt at Home Day"... need to go haul out that vacuum cleaner!!
