Can I just vent??    I know this is supposed to be a "light, fun blog"- but I just need a moment here, and then I'll be fine.  For starters- you know I told you that George had given me a trayful of beautiful tulips for our anniversary?  I had also bought 2 pots of dwarf tulips- and planted them in my front corner bed.  They looked so beautiful!!

Well, last night, SOMEBODY decided to rip out all my tulips and throw them into the street!!!!!  Can you even believe that?!?!?!  And I think I have a pretty good idea WHO.  You see, we have this nightmare property next door in which the landlord seems to not care a whit about- even though he's a minister!!- and the tenants he puts in there are so trashy it's unreal.  So we have had to deal with so much mess and hassle and disturbance over the years thanks to this property.  Well, periodically, I will file complaints when I reach a breaking point (talking to the landlord is like talking to a brick wall).  Right now they have a dog trapped on their back porch who is making a HUGE mess- that I have the sheer joy of seeing from my kitchen window- and there is litter and overgrown weeds everywhere.  UGH!!!!

Here's the aftermath (I salvaged them from the street, and then did replant them- only NO BLOOMS- and they had just opened, too ):

Isn't that just pathetic??  What is WRONG with people?!?!?!  Oh, how I miss living without neighbors.

Okay. Thank you.  On to girlie stuff....

If you are planning to join in the Book Club, do you mind just leaving a comment and saying "I'm in!"  I'd just like an idea!  Thanks!!

Here's my kitty who thinks he's Prince Charming:

OHGoodness, how horrible! I can't fathom what goes on in some people's heads anymore... but my boyfriend assures me that is a GOOD thing because if I understood their mindset I might be more accepting of their behavior or even unwittingly slip into behaving the same way myself.

I didn't use the pecan sandies - just the plain ones. Though the pecan ones just might make for an extra something special... that little surprise crunch hidden under all that gooey caramel and toasted coconut... hmmm... except I don't even like pecans LOL and my dad can't eat nuts or seeds of any sort. Still a good thought though!

I agree with Leah -- how horrible! It takes a truly terrible human being to rip out cheerful & harmless tulips. I don't get it. Stealing? I get it. If they'd placed those gorgeous tulips in their own yard or something -- I wouldn't approve but I would understand. Destruction... I got nothin.'

Vent away, dear! That's what girlfriends are for!

Blessings!

HI! I'm planning on finishing the book by then, but won't be able to make the live chat. It's only 5 here at that time, and I'll be at work until 7 your time.

I hate when the neighbors do stupid things like that. At least when it happens in my garden, it's just the neighbor kids making special flower pies or eating my raspberries. Thankfully, the tulips will come back next year for you. Hopefully you'll have new neighbors like that.

Ok Gina, I seriously have brain fade don't I? It HAS been a long week. I read, May 6 at 6pm EST. Now that I see it's 8pm EST, I may be able to make it. Sorry about that!

Gina, I'm sorry, but I can't chat. First of all since the book has not been finished, but the better reason is that my oldest daughter has a performance during the chat time. Have fun with it, I hope you have a lot of attendees! :)

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that Shelli! But I understand...for the record, however- you don't have to have finished the book in order to participate!! It helps, but if you haven't finished you are still welcome!!!
